BEHAVIOR IN THE LIBRARY
To ensure that all patrons may have considerate use of the Elkhart Public Library, appropriate
behavior is expected. Violation of any of the following rules will result in a warning and/or
possible expulsion from the property. If necessary, police will be contacted.
The Director and supervisory staff have authority to carry out all powers of this policy.

Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children while they are in the Library
(even if the parent is not present). Children under the age of seven (7) must be
accompanied and directly supervised at all times by a parent or other responsible
caregiver. If the parent or responsible caregiver cannot be located, or the safety of
an unattended child is in doubt, or if the Library is closing, Library staff is authorized
to call the police and stay with the child until the police arrive.
We are pleased to be able to offer FREE INTERNET ACCESS at the Elkhart Public Library.
Details of the Library's policy on internet/computer use can be obtained at the
circulation desk. The violation of any terms of the Elkhart Public Library's policy
may result in the suspension/revocation of Library Internet access privileges,
or even the suspension/revocation of general Library use privileges.
Please act responsibly!
